Castelrotto
Castelrotto (German Kastelruth, Ladin Ciastel) is the most painted South Tyrolean village; it’s the birthplace of the Italian ski champion Denise Karbon and of the very successful – in German-speaking countries, they sold more albums than the Beatles!- “Kastelruther Spatzen” music group. This group frontman still lives here and he breeds horses. Even if the Dolomites ski resort of Castelrotto is small, it offers much to the history and culture fans: the School Museum, the Farmer’s Museum, the local parish church and the Mount Calvary chapel. Castelrotto is also the ideal destination for your Italy golf holidays, as it offers one of the most panoramic greens in South Tyrol. In summer, it’s possible to hike, ride a horse, cycle, climb, while in winter it’s possible to ski, take part into horse-pulled sledge or snowshoes hiking tours, snowboard, ice-skate.
